Description20% off for a limited time only. Classic South African Chenin with honied, ripe, apple and peach fruit and a creamy texture. Well balanced acidity gives it great freshness and a crisp, clean finish. Very well made. The wine can be enjoyed on its own as an apéritif with canapés or with fish, chicken and fusion. Great value.
Bentonite fined so suitable for vegetarians and vegans. More informationThis wine is the brainchild of Mzokhona Mvemve, a talented Zulu winemaker who is a great role-model.
He has had to work incredibly hard to get to where he is, he has an MBA and a winemaking degree from Stellenbosch university where he was one of the few non-whites and he also had to contend with the course being taught in Afrikaans.
He has created the name 'Sagila' in memory of his grandfather. Sagila was the traditional mace which his grandfather carried in Zulu ceremonies.
This wine is part of the Black Empowerment project in South Africa. Mzo buys the grapes in (so it is not organic) and makes the wine himself. We think Mzo's wines are excellent and we'd like to support this venture.
