DescriptionVery pale, pretty pink colour with a lovely aroma of strawberry and redcurrant fruits. Youthful zesty fruit on the palate which is dry and crisp with lingering flavours. Some rosés can be rather 'squashy' with a little sweetness and not a lot of flavour. This is much more elegant with defined fruit which will accompany charcuterie, couscous salads, fish and paella. Made from 20 year old handpicked Syrah (55%) and Grenache (45%) grapes macerated for 12 hours and then pressed while the juice is still pink. More informationThis is an extraordinary place. The Mas de Daumas Gassac wines come from some 40 hectares of organically-farmed perfectly drained volcanic soil under the thick garrigue scrub and shrubs covering the Arboussas hills. The outstandingly unusual terroir was discovered in the 1970s by the great academic, Henry Enjalbert, then in the Chair of Geography at Bordeaux. |
