Lavacchio vineyards One of the farmhouses The cellarmaster and owner at the Millesime Bio wine fair
|
DescriptionThis is good quality Chianti with chewy, cherry fruit and nice concentration. Obviously a great match for Italian food such as risotto and calves liver, but will also go down a treat with grilled meats and sausages. More informationThis is a traditional Tuscan farm with 44 hectares of olive grove, 21 hectares of vineyard, 6 of wheat and 9 of woodland (where truffles can be found apparently!), plus fruit, vegetables, rabbits and chickens.
Built in 1700, the Lavacchio family purchased it in 1978 and began an extensive restoration programme. There are now four medieval farmhouses for guests as well as a restaurant, where the parquet floor is made out of old wine barrels (now that's what you call recycling!).
