Terra Prima is one of the first ports using organic grapes and organic spirit. Fonseca-Guimaraens are one the most famous port houses, founded in 1822 by Manuel Pedro Guimaraens. This is a non-vintage 'reserve' port which has been wood-matured for an average of five years in the traditional 'pipes' holding 550 litres each. Lusciously fruity and rich, it is full of black, licquorice fruit and sweet, spicy character. A great treat with mature farmhouse cheeses and nuts. 75cl bottle.

This cognac, made from organically grown Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard grapes within the Fins Bois region of Cognac, is a new venture for the long-established, family-owned Maison Prunier who launched it in October 2006. As a VSOP it has been aged for a legal minimum of five years in French oak casks, but more likely in practice to be seven to eight years.

Pale gold with tawny hues. Lovely warm nose with hints of orange and floral notes with spirit and vanilla oak nicely integrated. Nice complexity on palate which has a smooth, silky texture and is sweet without being caramelly. Refined, elegant style. Long finish. 70cl bottle. 43% alcohol by volume.
