The stunning Moncontour estate right next to the majestic Loire river.
|
DescriptionPale yellow with green hints. Elegant, dry white wine which is delicious with cured meats, chicken, fish and fusion dishes. With that characteristic crispness of Loire wines made from Chenin Blanc grapes, this wine boasts apple and pear fruit with overtones of white flowers and lovely length. More informationThe Domaine du Petit Coteau is the certified organic arm of the well-known Chateau Moncontour estate. The domaine is situated close to the Loire river and enjoys good sun exposure coupled with excellent temperature variation during the night and day. The soils are mainly clay and chalk.
The grapes come from vines that are between 20-45 years old. They are pressed slowly at low pressure, fermented in temperature-controlled tanks with no malolactic fermentation (this retains the appley acidity).
The wine is amusingly named 'Les Grenouilles' or 'The Frogs' and these little green creatures jaunt across the label!
