We've been busy selecting some new wines for you - two stunning whites from Yealands Estate in Marlborough, New Zealand - a Sauvignon Blanc and a Viognier from a vineyard that is a great example of sustainability (see their website). Plus a very gluggable red Bordeaux from Chateau Grand Renard at only £7.45 and a Sangiovese from Italy for £6.95 (all these wines have £1 off at the moment). From Burgundy, this really quite serious Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Alain Hasard's Champs de l'Abbaye (or the vineyards next to the Abbey - see the photo) is from the superb 2005 vintage. This is like baby Gevrey Chambertin in style and well worth the £12.95 price tag. On the Fairtrade front, we have a new white wine called Liberty Chenin Blanc which is the best Fairtrade white I've tried. At £6.50 this is affordable as well as contributing directly back to the workers in South Africa.
Best wishes from all the team Susan McCraith MW Ethical Fine Wines - sustainable, organic, biodynamic and fairly-traded fine wines |
