Description

The family work in the beautiful Vertus terroir, listed as Premier Cru., which is a complex terroir, due to its geological features. Numerous streams guarantee a good hygrometry. The soils, mostly calcareous, contain very little clay, with areas of pure chalk; there are three distinct types of soils: brown topsoil over chalk, redzine over chalk and brown topsoil over chalky gravel.

The exposition to the sun of the slopes is also an essential factor for the diversity of the Terroir ; in Vertus, there are three : East, South and South-East.

Great care is taken with the separate vinification of the grapes grown in about 30 different plots or«Lieux-dits» located in Vertus Premier Cru.

This mosaic of expressions supplies for the blending of each of their cuvées, a specific personality an identity.
