![]() delivery & storage chargesDelivery Charges: £6.99 per caseBottles are packed into Ethical Fine Wine cardboard cartons which are made from 100% recycled cartons and are fully recyclable. We have selected the best quality wine delivery service that currently exists: Amtrak's specialist Winetrak service. Cases of wine are treated with special care and it is an overnight service from collection from the warehouse. Therefore orders received and processed before 12 noon on Day 1 will be collected from the warehouse on Day 2 and delivered on Day 3. (It may take longer for more remote areas.) We charge £6.99 inc VAT per case for delivery, and all orders worth over £500 will be delivered free of charge. Note that surcharges apply for addresses in the Highlands and Islands. Orders can be collected direct from the warehouse in Wickwar if you are based locally. This removes the risk of breakage during transit and is free of charge. Please allow two days before collecting stock. When ordering or requesting delivery of stock held in reserve, please specify if the goods can be left safely somewhere in the event of no one being in. It is important to examine the case for damage on arrival. If there are signs of breakage, please mark this on the carrier's paperwork and notify us as soon as possible. Please open the case and check that you have the right wines and letus know as if there are any problems. Storage at home:Upon arrival, we recommend that you store your wine somewhere dark and cool, or at least at a stable temperature, for example under the stairs or in a spare room where the heating is turned off. Kitchen wine racks are usually too warm to leave wine for any length of time. Let your wine settle for a few days before opening. Wine is a living liquid and doesn't take kindly to being jostled about! Serving temperature:Reds should be served at room temperature or a little cooler and often benefit from decanting or pouring into a jug and then back into the bottle. Whites should be chilled for a couple of hours in the fridge. You can chill a wine quickly by plunging it in an ice and water mix for 20 minutes but beware of over-chilling whites, rosés and sparkling wines as it will 'numb' the flavours. ![]() Cellarage Facilities for MembersStorage is charged at £0.95 incl. VAT per case (or part case) per month (or part month). A 'case' is deemed to be 12 standard 75cl bottles or the equivalent (ie. 6 magnums, 24 half bottles). Storage charges include insurance at replacement value. These fees are charged monthly in advance to your membership account and will appear on your statement which can be accessed at any time via our website. We ask that members ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account to cover storage. Members may check their stocks at any time via the members' section of our website and make a despatch request. Please keep an eye on the recommended drinking dates for your wines. Some wines will benefit from ageing, others are better in their youth. It's not an exact science and it is better to err on the side of caution!
